What it's actually good for
How it works
Adamax is a synthetic derivative of the peptide Semax, modified with an adamantane group to increase stability and blood-brain barrier penetration. While based on the clinically used Russian peptide Semax, Adamax itself lacks human clinical trials and exists primarily as a research compound in the biohacking community.
It is thought to act as a potent melanocortin receptor agonist and upregulator of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and TrkB receptor sensitivity.
Safety
- No human safety data exists for this specific modification.
- Potential for overstimulation, anxiety, and insomnia.
- Anecdotal reports of temporary hair thinning, similar to other BDNF-upregulating compounds.
