How it works
Adipotide is an experimental peptidomimetic that targets the blood supply of white fat cells to induce apoptosis. While it demonstrated significant weight loss in primate studies, there are no published human clinical trials, and safety concerns regarding kidney function remain high.
It binds to prohibitin and ANXA2 receptors in the blood vessels of white adipose tissue, triggering programmed cell death by cutting off nutrient supply to fat cells.
Safety
- High risk of reversible kidney damage (proximal tubule dysfunction) observed in primates.
- Not approved for human consumption or medical use.
- Potential for severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
