What it's actually good for
How it works
Noopept is a synthetic nootropic peptide that shows promise for neuroprotection and cognitive recovery in patients with vascular or traumatic brain injury. Human evidence for cognitive enhancement in healthy individuals is largely anecdotal, though animal models suggest it increases expression of NGF and BDNF.
It acts as a prodrug for the peptide cycloprolylglycine, which modulates acetylcholine receptors and increases the expression of neurotrophic factors in the hippocampus.
