How it works

Noopept is a synthetic nootropic peptide that shows promise for neuroprotection and cognitive recovery in patients with vascular or traumatic brain injury. Human evidence for cognitive enhancement in healthy individuals is largely anecdotal, though animal models suggest it increases expression of NGF and BDNF.

It acts as a prodrug for the peptide cycloprolylglycine, which modulates acetylcholine receptors and increases the expression of neurotrophic factors in the hippocampus.

Safety

  • May cause irritability, headaches, or insomnia in sensitive users.
  • Lacks long-term safety data in healthy human populations.
  • Potential for 'brain fog' or sensory overload at higher dosages.
