How it works

Oxiracetam is a synthetic nootropic in the racetam family studied primarily for cognitive recovery following brain injury or dementia. While human trials show efficacy in impaired populations, evidence for enhancement in healthy adults is largely anecdotal or extrapolated.

It acts as a positive allosteric modulator of AMPA receptors and enhances acetylcholine signaling while increasing neuronal glucose metabolism.

Safety

  • May cause headaches; often stacked with a choline source.
  • Limited long-term safety data in healthy humans.
  • May cause overstimulation or irritability in sensitive users.
