How it works

PT-141 is a melanocortin receptor agonist with strong clinical evidence for treating sexual dysfunction. It is FDA-approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women and has demonstrated efficacy in trials for erectile dysfunction in men.

Acts as a non-selective agonist of melanocortin receptors (primarily MC3R and MC4R) in the central nervous system to modulate sexual desire and arousal pathways.

Safety

  • Nausea is the most common side effect, affecting up to 40% of users.
  • Can cause a transient increase in blood pressure and decrease in heart rate.
  • Risk of focal hyperpigmentation (skin darkening) with frequent use.
