How it works

SS-31 is a mitochondria-targeted peptide that binds to cardiolipin to stabilize the inner mitochondrial membrane. While approved for Barth syndrome, human evidence for general performance or longevity is primarily mechanistic or anecdotal.

It selectively binds to cardiolipin, preventing its oxidation and maintaining mitochondrial cristae structure, which optimizes ATP production and reduces electron leak.
