Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide is an FDA-approved dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist for type 2 diabetes and chronic weight management. Phase 3 trials (SURMOUNT-1, SURMOUNT-2, SURPASS-CVOT) demonstrate 15–22.5% body weight reduction and 26% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events, with superior efficacy to single-mechanism GLP-1 agonists.
