VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide)

VIP is a 28-amino acid neuropeptide with demonstrated anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties in both preclinical and limited human studies. The IV form (Aviptadil) showed improved survival outcomes in a Phase 2b/3 RCT for COVID-19 ARDS. Intranasal formulations are used off-label for chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS) and autoimmune conditions, though human evidence remains limited to observational and small clinical cohorts.
